Your online shopping can automatically generate donations to Al-Van Humane Society at no extra cost to you! A website called iGive.com has partnered with over 700 merchants to donate a percentage of each online purchase towards the shopper’s designated charity. Many partner stores also offer special discounts and promotions that allow you to save money while increasing the percentage donated to Al-Van. The donation comes from the participating merchant and does not add to your cost in any way.

Here’s how to get started. First, visit the registration area for the Al-Van Humane Society at http://www.igive.com/welcome/warmwelcome.cfm?c=44488&m=0. Next, register for your free membership. Once you are signed up, you can shop in one of two ways. The easiest way is to download the Shopping Window, this is what we recommend. It’s free, easy and requires no special computer knowledge. This will automatically ensure that any time you shop at a participating merchant’s website, the donation will be credited to Al-Van. You can shop online as you normally do, and if the website is from a participating merchant, the Shopping Window will appear to confirm the percentage donation that will be made from your purchases. You also can donate without downloading the Online Shopping Window, by visiting iGive.com and selecting a store from their online mall.

Every new person who registers and then shops within 45 days from registration will generate an additional $5 donation for Al-Van! When the total Al-Van donation amount for all iGive members reaches $25, iGive will mail a check to Al-Van. Donations roll over each month until $25 is reached.
