Low Income/Senior Citizen Spay/Neuter Program for dogs, cats and feral cats
The Al-Van Humane Society is replacing the STOP program with a Low Income?Senior Citizen Spay/Neuter program for dogs, cats and feral cats only.
Q: How does it work?
A: If you are a low income resident, a senior citizen or have a barn or feral cat you qualify for our special pricing to assist with the cost of spaying / neutering of your animals.
Q: From where does the money come?
A: Funding for this program depends on the amount of donations received by Al-Van that the public make, cage sponsorship and the generosity of vets that participate in this program in the Allegan and Van Buren County area.
Q: How can I help?
A: Your support is vital to the success of this endeavor. Donations can be directed specifically to the Spay/Neuter program by using “Paypal”, the membership form on our newsletter, or by mailing directly to Al-Van PO Box 421, South Haven, MI 49090 .
Q: If I want to use this service, what do I need to do?
A: You will need to come to the shelter and complete and application and pay your non-refundable fee. The shelter will then give you a completed application and a number to make an appointment with one of our veterinarians. You will then call the veterinarians office to make an appointment at your convenience.
Q: What if I am not sure I qualify?
A: Call the shelter at 269-637-5062 and they will be happy to answer any of your questions.
