What Is It? Developed by a veterinarian, and accepted by the AKC and the ASPCA the AVID® Microchip™ is the professional way to identify your pet and it's proven safe and effective. It is a tiny computer chip which contains a personal, one-of-a-kind identification number that distinguishes your pet as a special member of your family. This inexpensive procedure can be done anytime in minutes.

How Is It Attached? Using a standard hypodermic needle the chip is injected under the skin at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades. Here the AVID Microchip becomes encased by a thin layer of protein which anchors it in place for the rest of the life of your pet. The chip does not pass through or out of the body and is encapsulated in a specially formulated biocompatible material which means virtually zero chance of an allergic reaction or rejection.

How Does It Work? Using a special hand-held scanner a participating vet or shelter sends a radio signal through the skin of the animal to read the chip. The animal feels nothing as the scanner is passed over him or her. The microchip sends it’s number back to the scanner. It appears in the viewing window as, for example, AVID 220*609*321.
Get Your Peace Of Mind Today! As an official AVID microchip scanning facility we can provide this technology to you today and give you instant peace of mind. If your pet escapes any participating vet or shelter can scan your pet and immediately notify AVID on their 24 hour hotline. If you have registered your dog or cat in AVID's PETtrac program, then they will contact you directly. Otherwise, our office will be notified by AVID, and we will contact you regarding your lost pet.
